This article will be a brief overview of Google Adwords Match Types.
When you’re creating ads in Google Adwords, you’ll want to use the different match types to ensure your ad reaches the right people. Broad match is the default type, and it casts the widest net. Ads using broad match will show up when someone searches for any of your keywords, regardless of order or spelling.
Phrase Match Keywords
Phrase match is more specific, and will show your ad when someone searches for your phrase exactly as you’ve typed it, with no extra words. Exact match is the most specific type, and will show your ad only when someone searches for your exact keyword, in the same order.
Broad Match Keywords
Broad match is a great option if you’re not sure what keywords to start with, or if you want to cast a wide net and see what traffic you can generate. Phrase match can be useful if you want to target a specific phrase, but don’t want to miss out on traffic from people who might include extra words. Exact match should be used if you have a very specific keyword that you want to target.
It’s important to use the right match type for your keywords, or you might not be reaching the right people. Broad match can be useful for generating traffic, but it’s important to keep an eye on your ROI and make sure you’re not spending too much on clicks that might not be converting. Phrase match can be helpful for maintaining control over your traffic while still reaching a wider audience than exact match would. Exact match should be used if you know that your audience is looking for exactly what you’re offering and are likely to convert. If you’re not sure about where to go, you can always speak with a google ads agency.
