In order to have your php application or wordpress site functioning in the most secure and effective manner you will need to ensure that your PHP version is updated to the most recent version in your GoDaddy instance.
Luckily, updating your PHP version is a very simple process that only takes a few minutes to complete. There are three specific versions, Linux, Windows, and Managed WordPress and Managed WordPress Ecommerce. This article provides you information to update your respective version.
To update your PHP for Linux:
- Navigate to the “My Products” Page
- Under web hosting click manage next to your hosting plan
- In the account dashboard, look for the settings section and select server
- Click manage
- Select your desired PHP version and confirm
- Save changes
To update your PHP for Windows:
- Go to your GoDaddy product page
- Select web hosting and then manage
- In the account dashboard select PLESK ADMIN
- On the next page, and for the domain you want to manage select PHP settings
- In the PHP settings page, select the PHP version you want to use
- Click OK at the bottom of the page
To update your PHP for Managed WordPress and Managed WordPress Ecommerce:
- Go to your GoDaddy product page
- Next to managed wordpress, select MANAGE ALL
- Select settings for the website you want to manage
- Under production site, next to PHP version, select change
- From the menu, choose the PHP version to change to, then select Save Changes.
